Peace Alliance Winnipeg calls for unconditional ceasefire and a comprehensive, negotiated peace settlement
Peace Alliance Winnipeg and the Canada-Palestine Network (Winnipeg) are organizing a rally at City Hall (510 Main St.) on Saturday, July 22 at 1:00 p.m.
The purpose of the rally is to demonstrate public opposition to Isreal’s illegal and disproportionate military aggression against both Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territory of Gaza.
The Israeli military response to the kidnappings of three Israeli soldiers has been indiscriminate, causing the death of innocent civilians and infrastructure and supplies crucial for the support of life of thousands of people. The response is inflicting huge losses on the sovereign country of Lebanon and is a gross violation of international law.
Peace Alliance Winnipeg and the Canada-Palestine Network (Winnipeg) are calling for an immediate unconditional ceasefire and a comprehensive negotiated peace settlement in the Middle East in line with UN Security Council resolutions, and condemn the Harper government
