Every August 6, Winnipeggers commemorate the August 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with a Lanterns for Peace Ceremony. People come together to make and float their lanterns in the fountain at Memorial Park to express their desire for a peaceful world and to show solidarity with countless others around the world who are observing this day. Please join us this year, and bring family and friends.
