Please join us in protest of the NATO summit on July 11, 2024 at 5:00 PM at River and Osborne in Winnipeg.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the U.S.-led, nuclear-armed military alliance that was founded by twelve countries including Canada in 1949, is marking its 75th year summit in Washington, DC, from July 9-11.
In the last 35 years, NATO has left a trail of death and destruction from its interventions in the former Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Libya and now Ukraine.
This action is part of a week of actions across Canada led by Canada Wide Peace and Justice Network demanding No to NATO, Canada Out of NATO and Nature not NATO. CWPJN is a network of 49 peace, social justice, antiwar and climate justice organizations across Canada. This week of action is also in solidarity with the No to NATO, Yes to Peace counter-summit and protest being held in Washington DC from July 6-7 – nonatoyespeace.org.
